FIRE PROOF CURTAIN WALLING
Fire resistant screens and curtain walling is essential for any environment where there could be a potential risk of fire exposure.
The EWS1 is a form introduced as part of a new External Wall Fire Review process valuing high-rise buildings. The EWS1 form was introduced in December 2019 in response to the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017. The form designates whether the external wall of a building, or attachments to the external wall such as cladding, are at low risk for fire.
RAINSCREEN CURTAIN WALLING
Curtain walling is an external non-structural building envelope. Often fabricated using aluminium systems, it is light weight and easy to transport and install. Curtain walling usually features large expanses of glass. This allows natural light to penetrate deep into a building to create a better working environment
WHY CHOOSE RAINSCREEN?
Provides great design flexibility and works with an extensive range of materials and finishes.
Helps reduce thermal movement through the wall which reduces energy costs.
Lightweight system thus reducing the buildings overall dead load.
Low maintenance and durable façade solution.
Rainscreen cladding is not restricted to using a single material. This type of design can be used with composite materials
The outer finish can also be fixed using various methods such as secret fix, structural bonding, or face fixed.
CERTIFICATION & INSPECTIONS
An industry-wide form has been released to assist in the assessment and valuation of flats in multi-storey buildings, or where specific fire safety concerns exist. This form has been endorsed by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK Finance and the Building Societies Association and is known as the External Wall Fire Review form (EWS1).
The external wall system is made up of the outside wall of a residential building, including cladding, insulation, fire break systems, etc. The EWS1 form checks these for safety, if that is required.
Buildings in scope are blocks of flats, student accommodation, dormitories, care homes and HMOs exc hotels.

COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL
Modern facades become obsolete through age, structural issues, weather or more commonly, changes to regulations. Existing buildings which act as dwellings must comply with any updated regulations. We carry out a wide range of façade replacement and repair projects
Facades & Cladding Replacement Solutions
Façade cladding is the ‘outer skin of a building’. Façade cladding is not only used to protect a building against environmental conditions, it also determines the appearance of a building. One of the most optimal materials for this is pre-coated aluminium; due to its functionality, relatively low price and aesthetics.
Understanding Government Regulations
When considering the suitability of the cladding materials used on your project its critical to first understand the latest regulatory guidance issued by the local government. In the UK all buildings have a minimum fire rating specification based on the height of the building , which is required by law.
